"The architectural treasures of Ukraine" is the unique project of common activity of the cities of Ukraine, community of architects and business.

What is the common ground between Saint Andrey's church in Lviv, house with chimeras in Kiev and hotel "Ukraine" in Lugansk?

The answer to this question is given by the social project "The architectural treasures of of Ukraine" which inhabitants saw in the streets of more than thirty Ukrainian cities in January, 2014. The project has developed and is realized on an initiative and with support of the Cities of Ukraine Association, the Architects of Ukraine National Union, the Department of architecture of Kiev City State Administration (KCSA), the OOH-operator “Prime Group” and the advertizing and printing company “Grande Affiche”.

Initiators of the project set the goal of making the particular actions for rising of proper pride and mutual respect of inhabitants of different Ukrainian cities. The project purpose is a turn for the better attitude of inhabitants of Ukrainian cities to their own history, environment and their country.

"We need to attract attention of citizens to the hometown life and to interest them in other cities of the country", say the initiators of the project.

"The project accords to the social request — needs for self-identification of cities inhabitants. This project visualizes unique cultural and historical acquisition. It is creation of unified conceptual space "the city architecture of Ukraine" that allows to break negative myths and phobias", makes comments its art-head Igor Stepanov.

Actually, this and other similar projects are intended for creation of general positive space and for increase of self-esteem and brotherhood of Ukrainians”, says Ekaterina Khramova, the managing partner of the “Prime Group”, “ We consider as honor to be the cofounder of this project and to have opportunity to make the contribution to development of the Ukrainian cities".

"We are sincerely glad because of that positive reaction which was expressed by heads of the cities which take part in the project. The necessity of this project is very timely. And our Association supports it and considers it must be developed", comments Miroslav Pittsik, the executive director of the Cities of Ukraine Association.
"Advertizing can decorate our cities. Advertizing can and has to solve social tasks. The question is how to find the right approach to achieve positive results. In our opinion, this project clearly demonstrates this thesis", says Oleg Kalinichenko, the director of the advertizing and printing company Grande Affiche.

"The collective and creative approach to a question of responsible attitude to our mutual city space is the lineaments of this project. Development is possible on condition of cooperation of the city authorities, society and business", emphasizes Sergey Tselovalnik, the chairman of the Department of architecture of KCSA.

Therefore it is very important to pay attention of society to this fact and to preserve and develop the identity of our cities", believes Vladimir Gusakov, the chairman of the Architects of Ukraine National Union.
